We’ve taken the Johnson Octave Mandolins (MA-450) back to their roots and "reintroduced" a line designed from traditional Celtic models. These mandolins are made from all solid woods. We select only choice spruce with tight, uniform grain.
The back and sides are made from hard maple and the neck is mahogany, shaped for maximum comfort. We use a traditional X-braced soundboard, but outfit the instrument with an adjustable truss rod for modern reliability.
Other features include multi-ply body binding, a rosewood fretboard and bridge, a compensated saddle, and high-quality chrome plated tuning machines. We even use a traditional Celtic knotwork design for the headstock inlay.
